Why are you dressed like this, aunt?
I was standing on the sidewalk waiting for an Uber…
Next to me was a little boy holding his mother’s hand. He kept staring at me, then suddenly asked her in a loud voice:
— “Mom… why is Auntie dressed like this?”
The mother was confused, smiled apologetically, and said calmly:
— “Everyone has their own style, just like we wear whatever we like.”
The boy looked at me again…
He asked me with unexpected frankness:
— “Don’t you get bothered by wearing this in the heat?
I laughed heartily and said:
— “You know, hero… sometimes it gets really hot, but I like my clothes because they make me comfortable and happy inside.”
The mother smiled and said:
— “You see? The most important thing is for a person to be comfortable.”
The boy thought for a while, then said to me:
— “When I grow up, I want to wear whatever makes me comfortable, just like you!”
I laughed, my heart warming…
