University is back… and Oswa’s abaya is the heroine of the scene
After a week-long trip with the family, I returned to Cairo excited and nervous.
My first day at a new university… A batch full of girls and boys, each entering with excitement, anxiety, and confusion all at once.
I woke up early in the morning and opened my closet…
There were many pants and outfits, but my hand fell on the practical beige abaya I’d bought from Oswa before my trip—light fabric, simple style, and comfort I couldn’t find anywhere else.
As I entered the university, I felt a lot of stares…
One of them said to me affectionately:
— “Your style is really nice… Where did you get this? I’ve never seen such a light abaya before.”
I laughed confidently:
— “This is from Oswa… Seriously, practicality and elegance in one piece.”
In my first class, I sat in the back row to observe the atmosphere.
All the girls were wearing dresses and jeans, and some were imitating the styles of famous veiled women online.
One of the girls She approached and asked:
— “Aren’t you embarrassed by the abaya? Don’t you think about changing it if there’s a special occasion?”
I told her:
— “I’ve tried everything, but in the end, I feel truly comfortable in an Oswa abaya or their loose dress… even when I go out with my friends.”
During the day, a few girls gathered:
— “This girl seems calm… but every day we see her in a new style from the same brand.
Where is that store, anyway?”
I laughed to myself…
It’s clear that being different isn’t a weakness; it’s a strength.
Every time someone asks me about my outfit, I feel more confident.
In the cafeteria, a girl seeing me for the first time said:
— “I want to try modest clothing like you… but I’m afraid of appearing strange or no one understanding me.”
I smiled and encouraged her:
— “Try one thing, and if you feel comfortable, don’t let anyone’s stares stop you.
There are brands like Oswa that actually create outfits for every girl who wants to prove herself. Her personality.
I came home at the end of the day, exhausted but proud…
The abaya was a part of me, and any girl who entered university with a different color or style deserves applause.
