Laylat Al-Qadr “Night of Power”
Laylat al-Qadr… Better than a thousand months
Laylat al-Qadr is one of the greatest nights. It is the night on which the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). This night is a great opportunity for each of us, as Allah Almighty says in the Quran:
“إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ” (القدر: 1-3)
This means that this night is better than a thousand months! Every moment of it can change your life for the better if you make the most of it.
How can we make the most of Laylat al-Qadr?
This night is not just a night for supplication; it is an opportunity for us to draw closer to our Lord, so we must make the most of it in the best way. There are several things we can do on the Night of Decree:
Standing and praying: Prayer on the Night of Decree has great merit.
Supplication: Keep your tongue moist with supplications and ask God for whatever you desire.
Reading the Quran: Use this time to recite the Quran, as its reward is greater.
Charity: If you have something you can give in charity, do so on this night so that God will double your reward.
When is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree falls in the last ten days of Ramadan, specifically on the odd-numbered nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th). Therefore, it is important to be prepared on these nights and increase our worship.
How can we benefit most from the Night of Decree?
Pure Intention: Keep your heart pure and your intentions purely for God.
Repentance: If something is weighing on your heart, seize this opportunity and ask God for forgiveness.
Remembrance and glorification: Keep your tongue busy remembering God throughout the night. Laylat al-Qadr is not just an ordinary night; it is an irreplaceable opportunity. If we make the most of it, we will emerge closer to God and feel inner peace. Seize this opportunity during Ramadan, because its blessings are irreplaceable.
