Laila…and the step that started with Khimar
Laila was one of those girls who was too embarrassed to say “no.”
Even if the outfit wasn’t comfortable,
even if her veil kept slipping all day,
she would keep quiet… and be polite.
She wore what people thought was “chic,”
not what she was truly comfortable in.
She listened to everyone’s opinions and forgot her own voice.
Until one day, as she was entering university, the traffic was terrible…
and her veil fell off.
She spent the whole day adjusting it,
and her every move was under merciless eyes.
She returned home and decided:
“Enough!”
“I’ll wear something comfortable… something that stays in place without tension, without pins, and without fear.”
She started searching… and fell in love with the Malaysian hijab.
Elegant, simple, and light, as if it were a part of her.
From the first time she put it on, she stopped adjusting it,
she stopped being embarrassed,
only the opposite…she started choosing.
From here, Laila began to change.
The veil wasn’t just a piece of cloth.
It was the first decision she made:
“I dress for myself… not for other people.”
It was the first step toward comfort, modesty, and God’s pleasure.
