First day at the office… and the abaya that saved me

First day at the office!
Full of awe… and excitement… and every now and then I’d ask myself:
“I wonder how people here see me?”

I decided to start my day with a formal abaya from Oswa—practical style, comfortable fabric, a calm beige color, and a white scarf wrapped lovingly.
As I entered the office, the security guard at the door smiled and said:
— “Elegance and dignity… The first time I’ve seen an abaya in this style!”

I went up to the sixth floor and found my colleagues wearing suits and two classic dresses…
One of them approached me and said:
— “I like your outfit. It feels formal and elegant… Where did you get that from?”

I laughed confidently:
— “Oswa… Whenever I look for a practical abaya or dress that’s suitable for all situations, I always find the ones I like.”

In the office, I started asking light questions:
— “Won’t the abaya hinder you at work or in meetings?”
— “Isn’t it hot?”

I felt a sarcastic response inside. Hadi:
“The heat is primarily from the questions, not the fabric!”
But my response was simple:
— “The most important thing is comfort… and I’ve tried several styles, but in the end, the outfit that expresses you is what makes work easier.”

During lunch, I received an unexpected comment from the department manager:
— “I respect that you maintain your identity. By the way, formal attire doesn’t have to be traditional or boring… it can be chic, à la Oswa!”

At the end of the day, as I left the office, I stood in front of the mirror at the reception desk. I felt all the morning’s tension transform into satisfaction:
“There’s nothing better than a day that begins and ends with you feeling comfortable in your outfit… even if people are still surprised.”

I went home and thanked myself for choosing to wear an Oswa abaya for my first day at work—not just because it looked chic, but because it supported me in the middle of the crowd.
