🕌 The Seven Mosques… Witnesses to the Battles of Faith

In the northwest of Medina, on Mount Sal’, stand seven very small mosques, but they bear witness to one of the most important moments in Islamic history: the Battle of the Trench.

This place is not just an archaeological site… it is a space that speaks of courage, patience, and supplication.

⚔️ The Story from the Beginning

When the polytheists decided to besiege Medina, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) consulted with his Companions about defense. Salman the Persian suggested digging a trench.
And indeed, they dug the trench in this exact spot. Each of the seven mosques was built in a spot where a commander or Companion participated in the defense or where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) resided during the siege.

🌙 The Arrangement of the Mosques and Their Importance

These mosques are small, very close to each other, including:

Al-Fath Mosque: The largest and most famous of them. In it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on the Day of the Trench, saying:

“O God, Revealer of the Book, Swift in Reckoning, Defeat the Confederates, Defeat them and shake them.”
And his supplication The response was answered, and the wind turned the tide of battle.

Salman Al-Farsi Mosque: Commemorating his great proposal to dig a trench.

The Mosque of Abu Bakr, Omar, Ali, Fatima, and the Small Mosque of the Two Qiblas.
Each one has a story, but they are united by one place and one spirit.

🌸 The Place Today

Now, the seven mosques have become well-known shrines; people visit them after praying at the Quba Mosque or during Umrah.
The tranquility there is extraordinary… The scent of history and the prayers that remain on the walls reassure the heart.

🕊️ The Message for Us

These mosques remind us that victory isn’t always achieved by strength. Sometimes it begins with an “idea,” like Salman Al-Farsi’s proposal.
They remind us that a prayer in a moment of patience can change the fate of an entire nation.

In our small lives, we all have a “trench” we face… work, stress, study, or even people’s stares.
But as long as the intention is pure and the steps are consistent, Steadfast, our Lord continues the journey with us.
Just as the Prophet ﷺ chose the difficult path during the siege, we too must choose the right way in our clothing, in our work, and in every decision.
This is facilitated by a model: simple, comfortable choices that keep the heart steady in the midst of any crowd.

✅ CONCLUSION

The Seven Mosques are not just stone walls; they are signs of trust in God in times of hardship.
And no matter how times change, the meaning remains the same: patience, trust, and intention.
